We left Philippines around 6am, one last sugar filled meal for breakfast. Random beef noodles for breakfast with sweet coffee and banana cake! Onto the cheap air Asia plane and sleep within minutes! We had a 5hr layover in Kuala Lumpur but the time flew and its a pretty comfortable airport with sport and movie lounges!
When we landed in Phnom Penh the airport was so small and quite it felt more like an air field, no one around and our visa on arrival was done in minutes! Luckily they accepted all kinds of money so to pay for it we used €50 euro and £5 sterling and $5 Singapore dollars! We grabbed a cab to our hotel, he was kind enough to offer us tours of the city for a price but his English was shocking so it would have been a pointless tour!
After a quick panic thinking we left our camera in the taxi we soon checked in to our hotel which was above a bar owner by an English man who had previously managed a bar in Greece. We hit the local night market that happens at the weekend. The Cambodian bbqs wee great but we weren't sure what to do with the baskets or how to order food. Soon we just picked what we want put it in a basket and handed it to someone to cook. $3.50 later we had our weird looking food on the floor. Nom nom nom! We saw guys grinding sugar cane to make kalimansi juice which is the micro lime looking fruit. It's a cross between a lime and orange. We miss limes. Paddy had picked up some free food poisoning from Kuala Lumpar airport which was making eating on the floor even more appealing! It wasn't so bad we still managed to squeeze in a massage and some manicures and pedicures on the way home before passing out!
